Ed Closson of Logansport, Indiana presented me with a case full of old film negatives from the 1945 and 1946 that he collected some time past with no idea who or what was on them. I knew immediately with the first few scans that the photographer was very skilled and that these were beyond the usual. What a treat! A bit of minor research and asking around town leads me to the conclusion that the photos were most likely taken by a local professional photographer, Russ Rangel. Subjects range from Logansport parades to family portaits, Chicago, airplanes, a new car and what is probably a trip to Mexico. That's a lot of ooooomph for a relatively small batch of negatives. The originals were starting to discolor quite a bit. I ran a quick series of re-coloring filters to bring them back to something closer to the originals but did not make much of an attempt at dust removal.
